Check It Out W/Davon Magwood

Hey guys and gals.

The internet is filled with so much shit these days. So I took it upon myself to got thru all of the shit to find things that are worth checking out. This will happen every Friday.

This Friday, I am featuring a web series that I think is awesome. It’s titled “Damaged”.

Damaged is an animated web series about two broken robots adopted by humans. Created by comedian Liz Miele, characters designed by Adam Record and animated by Ben Luce and Grant Lindahl!

Why should you check it out? Because I fucking said so. JOKING(or am I?)

This web series is beautifully animated. It’s witty, and oh yeah there’s Robots!

Take a break from your Jenna Marbles bender and watch this new web series which was mainly funded by kickstarter.

You’ll love it. The videos are short so don’t worry you can get back to watching “twerk” videos and hood fights.

See you next week. Send me stuff that you think would be cool for any future “Check It Outs” emails put “check it out submission” in the title.

Thanks

Youtube forgot the “Comedy” part of Comedy Week!

When I saw that Youtube was doing a “comedy” week I was so excited! I looked to the heavens and yelled, “THIS HAS FAIL WRITTEN ALL OVER IT” And man youtube does not disappoint.

Youtube will never have to do a Stars “Where Are They Now” show because sadly they are still in the LA area trying to convince people they are talented. Calling this waste of a Google hangout a “comedy week” is an insult to people who love comedy.

And I’m sure these youtube stars are funny to PreTeens and kids who don’t have cable, but this “Comedy Week” seems to be youtube trying to make some extra money off their partners. Or, and this is a sadder point, maybe the people at Youtube truly think the creators of “Historical Rap Battle” and the “Smosh” idiots are true comedic geniuses. If so then there is a deeper problem here.

Youtube “Comedy” Week? Nah, should be titled Youtube: “Live Comedy Is Hard”, I say that mainly because, Pete Holmes, Kyle Kinane, and Hannibal Buress killed it. It was great seeing live stand up comedy on youtube. Maybe the people at Youtube should have  tried to showcase more stand up and sketch comedy on their “Comedy Week” instead of trying to get Jenna Marbles more video views.

When you upload a video on youtube they give you a few categories to file your video under. And what  Youtube’s “Comedy Week” has show us is that next time “Epic Meal Time” and company want to upload a video instead of putting it under “Comedy” they should scroll down and file their videos under “Entertainment” because even if its funny it doesn’t mean it’s comedy, OR that you’re a comedian. Sorry Not Sorry.

My Final Verdict: Youtube Comedy Week. A swing and a miss.
